Day 197: Fed Ex, Apple and WOW!

Yesterday I was explaining how to effectively create bulletproof positioning.

Coke got crushed by Pepsi in the taste tests and still outsold them handily.

‘Create a Category’

Often businesses get hung up going head to head and the common end result is lowering prices.

Creating a category is not the easiest thing in the world but if done properly… it’s a game-changer for you and your high-end coaching clients.

The way to do this is to narrow focus and start something totally afresh. 

Before Fed Ex, there was no overnight delivery.

Jake Burton basically created the sport of snowboarding.

Before Dominos, there was no market for home-delivered pizza.

Before Apple, a cell phone was something you made calls on.

Paypal created the online payment category.

Elon Musk is planning to colonize Mars?!?!

Your client doesn’t need to be as ambitious as colonizing Mars to create a category.
