One Thing: Day 1091: Margin. Of. Safety.
Yesterday I was explaining how you should spend 8 hours living as though you’ll die tomorrow and the other 8 hours as though you’ll live forever and also how I got so bored I called Jake from State Farm.
Speaking of Jake asking me what I was wearing…
Dave and I went out for a bite to eat and here’s how it went:
*waitress walks up*
Dangerous Dave: I’ll have a milk.
*waitress leaves*
Me: Did you just order milk??
Dangerous Dave: Ya, the waitress is kinda pretty. I’m flexing my lactose intolerance.
*silence*
In other news…
Tell your clients to apply for a line of credit while times are good. When times are tough and they need it… they won’t get approved.
Anyhoo…

There are some great investment books but this one is up there with the best of the best.
Plus a used copy of it costs over $2000…
… Here are some of my notes:
1) Cash is not trash… don’t be scared to keep some cash ready and waiting
2) Opportunities arise (wealth changes hands) when the bear market /crash comes
3) Look for catalysts… this is anything that leads to a dramatic change in the stock price or trend of the stock price.
4) Invest in special situations… spin offs, corporate restructuring, share repurchases, asset sales, shareholders conflict etc…
5) Focus on absolute returns… these are returns on an asset and do not factor performance of the market.
There is a ton to all this and I can’t recommend highly enough that you grab (borrow) a copy.
