Day 1305: New. Different. Problems.

Yesterday I was explaining what to do when your pet fish gets sick and how that relates to you… as well as how Wifey said ‘Dream On’ when I asked if she could drive our daughter to early morning dance class.

Speaking of me saying thank you and going back to sleep…

I was reading about the fall of the Roman Empire a few years after the plague.

Sounds pretty screwed up!

The plague resulted in infighting, labor shortages, bad leadership, multiple wars, more infighting, infighting, decisions made to benefit the rich rather than the middle class / poor…

HEY…

‘Problem to New Problem’

You probably know as AI starts to replace workers, people will struggle to find purpose and meaning.

Like communist Russia days…

… Vodka anyone?

There won’t be a lot of problems to solve cause the machines will do it for you.

Your coaching client instinctively thinks they hired you to make their problems disappear.

That’s not the way it works.

Moving forward positively just brings new and different problems.

Said differently: Becoming successful is basically exchanging one set of problems for a new (bigger) set of problems.

Therefore…

Frame problems as a function of you and your client’s reality.

As your client moves positively forward… manage their expectations so they don’t expect to enter a new fantasy world with no problems.

But to a world with different problems.

Good news:
