Day 1426: Live. Events. Canned. Joke.

Yesterday I was explaining how you’ll take ten steps… so you might as well take ten steps in one direction as well as how Dave’s Dad asked his neighbor if he liked his new car.

Speaking of Dave’s Dad replying to how he was thinking about getting the same one for his granddaughter when she turns 16…

I was chatting with my Drunk Aunt this morning and here’s how our conversation went:

Me: What are you up to?

My Drunk Aunt: Bought some fly spray from the supermarket yesterday.

Me: What did you do with it?

My Drunk Aunt: I sprayed it all over myself.

Me: And?

My Drunk Aunt: Total sc4m. I still can’t fly.

Me:

I’ve filled and run hundreds of live events for business owners…

… the last event I did got 100% conversion to a high-end coaching client and thought some of my old notes might help you:

  • Joke.
    Funny equals money… I ALWAYS open with a canned joke.

  • Hand Up.
    Ask them a question(s) that’ll get them to raise their hand in the first minute of starting.

Example: “Raise your hand if you want to make more money with your business while spending less time in the office.”

*raise hands from 80%

“OK, now raise your hand if you’re not going to raise your hand no matter what I ask today?”

I just got almost every hand raised, and the entire group laughed with 100% certainty.

  • Smile.
    Sounds obvious, but it’ll make you look more confident and, most importantly, place your audience at ease.

  • Double the Energy.
    Double the energy… triple the sales.

Being enthusiastic is contagious, and your audience will engage at a higher level when they feel your genuine energy and enthusiasm.

  • Speak Clearly.
    Use simple words and don’t speak too fast.

  • Tone.
    Vary your tone and pace of your voice.

*Music is the space in between the notes.

  • Stories.
    Les Brown says, ‘Never tell a story without making a point and never make a point without telling a story.’

  • Ask Questions.
    Thinking is asking and answering questions to yourself… therefore, you should ask questions and guide their thinking.

  • Dramatic.
    Be dramatic with your voice, movements and gestures.

  • PRACTICE.
    Pros get paid to practice.

Don’t practice to practice… practice to improve.
