Yesterday I told you how ‘a goal is something you can see, and a target is something you can HIT’ as well as how My Drunk Aunt is planning months in advance for her Halloween costume.

Speaking of her plan to dress up as the interest rate in Canada and trick or treating, telling people they’re about to lose their house…

My Godson was over and here’s our conversation:

Me: Tell me a funny story from your school days.

Godson: No question, the time Angus told the teacher his favorite letter.

Me: Tell me the story?

Godson: Our teacher asks this question: ‘Kids, what’s your favorite letter?’

Angus: *raises hand enthusiastically* ‘No question, the letter G.’

Teacher: ‘And why is that Angus?’

Angus:

‘Watch You Play’

Life and business are games…

… the point of a game is to have FUN.

My daughter plays roller hockey.

Ice hockey on rollerblades.

When I was playing in its heyday, it was touted as the fastest growing sport in the world.

I played for Team Canada five times at the World Championships, and it’s kinda wild that she’s playing the same sport.

I remember winning a silver medal and throwing it in the garbage.

An overly competitive jerk that didn’t quite get it.

I rarely miss watching anything my daughter does; theater, tennis, track, gymnastics, parkour, trampolining, silks etc… I’m there.

She got first in the long jump and said to me:

“Dad, they weren’t going to put me in cause they thought I was too short HAHA.”

My message today is this:

Prior to any competition she enters, here’s my message:

“I’m not here to watch you win… I’m here to watch you play.”

That’s profound to me cause I was always too busy trying to win.

The magic is the game never ends.

Until it ENDS.

Tell the others.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
