Day 1483: Authority. Bias. Mick. Jagger.

Yesterday I was explaining how financially successful people go to Buddhist Monks for direction, but Buddhist monks do not go to the financially successful for direction,  hmmmm…. As well as how Dave’s Dad asked a woman his own age for her number.

Speaking of her saying 120 over 80…

Dave called this morning and here’s how our conversation went:

Me: What’s going on?

Dangerous Dave: My brother called and told me he’s met the person he’s going to spend the rest of his life with.

Me: Good for him.

Dangerous Dave: Ya, he got a new cellmate.

Me:

Your one PROFIT ACCELERATION THING today is: 

‘Authority Bias’

Mick Jagger may or may not have looked like a little old lady while watching the England vs Argentina game.

Made me think of this:

Rockstars don’t date pretty girls cause they’re good-looking, they date pretty girls cause they’re rockstars.

Your prospects and high-end coaching clients are HIGHLY influenced by the thoughts and views of people they see as an authority.

Your job before you try to sell your coaching…

… is to make them see you as an authority.

Like how the Doctor makes you wait in the waiting room, always wears the white coat, moves you to another room and the stethoscope around his / her neck…’

… 20 minutes late, and you’re excited when they finally come into the room.

Stop and make a list of ways YOU can increase your authority with prospects and clients.

Examples:

  • Command your voice (the music is in the spaces between the notes)

  • Move slower than other people in the room

  • Drop three knowledge bombs

  • Stories you tell

  • Name drop

  • Post consistently on social media

  • Stories of successful clients

  • Be opinionated

  • Stand against silly norms

  • Speak in public

  • Host a radio show / podcast

  • Write articles in popular magazines

  • Walk in like you own it… not like you wanna buy it

  • Etc…

Tell the others.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
