Yesterday I gave you seven random thoughts highlighted by how you will not rise to the level of your goals but you’ll fall to the level of your level of your ability to organize as well as how My Drunk Aunt says that when she wins the lottery no one close to her will be broke and she really means that.

It’s the 4th of July and Dave’s girlfriend was getting fresh, here’s their conversation:

Girlfriend: Dave, I shaved my lady-parts, you know what that means..?

Dangerous Dave: The drain is clogged again?

Happy Independence Day.

Independence was DECLARED in 1776 but that was followed by a 7 year WAR.

If you are DECLARING your personal / business Independence… you might need to prepare yourself for a war.



‘3 Chapters’

Warren Buffett says that if you want to study investing there are only 3 chapters you need to read.

1.  Chapter 8 of The Intelligent Investor

2.  Chapter 20 of The Intelligent Investor

3.  Chapter 12 of Keynes’ The General Theory

Synopsis of Chapter 8: Prepare both financially / psychologically and avoid market forecasting. Most importantly, don’t allow yourself to be swayed by short term market fluctuations which are inevitable.

Synopsis of Chapter 20: Margin of Safety “the secret of sound investment.”  MOS suggests you only buy stock when it’s trading discounted to its true worth. The more margin of safety you have the more leeway for negative conditions. Notwithstanding if conditions are better than expected your profits are exponentially higher than the original margin.

Synopsis of Chapter 12: Long term expectations and the individuals, markets and psychology surrounding it. This chapter distinguishes between short-term and long-term expectations and also the role ‘confidence’ plays in influencing investment.
