Yesterday I was explaining how it’s better to ask your kid what lights them up rather than what they want to do when they grow up as well as what we did when our local librarian died.

Dave has been getting into Buddhism, here’s our conversation:
Me: How is your new Buddhism endeavour going?
Dangerous Dave: Up and down.. some people get it and some people don’t.
Me: Give me an example.
Dangerous Dave: Last night it was late and I was leaving the bar… I saw a monk I recognized from my Buddhist Church (Vihara) working at a hotdog stand and I went up to him, held my arms out, we locked eyes and I emphatically called out “Make me one with everything…”
Me: What did he do?
Dangerous Dave: He handed me a hotdog.
*silence*
