At the age of 21, I was sponsored by the President of a National Business Association to consult small business owners overseas.
Was a right place, right time kinda opportunity, and I needed to get sponsored to stay in the country.

The President who I worked with directly… was an expert in licensing and franchising.

I was introduced to a business term I had never heard of…
‘Intellectual Property’ (IP).
I’ll start with a reminder of what I explained a couple of days ago.
The old factors of production and the ones they still teach in school looked like this:
1. Land
2. Physical Labor
3. Capital
The new factors of production in 2021 and beyond look like this:
1. Information
2. Reach / Distribution
3. Computing Power
Here are my 6 reasons that you and your high-end coaching clients should understand IP and the dynamics behind intangible resources.
And these are also rules that I am questioning in the age of AI and what happens going forward.
1) Economic laws taught in school… no longer hold true.
2) An example would be the law of diminishing marginal returns, which has been replaced by the law of increasing returns due to mechanisms of positive / negative feedback loops.
3) Intelligence is now a stand-alone product
4) Labor and capital are no longer the fundamental resources of production… It’s intelligence.
5) Business processes are becoming more and more knowledge intensive.
6) Physical strength is unnecessary when intelligence is effective (robots).
7) Management principles have adjusted because intangible resources need to be managed very differently than tangible ones.
If you want to stay ahead of the curve and help your high-end coaching clients do the same…
Intellectual Property (IP) is something you should understand at a high level.
And then question everything in the age of AI.
Things are changing for you and your clients.
You need to change with them.
