The late great Charlie Munger would tell you ‘Inversion’ was his go-to mental model.

Rather than thinking about your ideal outcome… you’d be better off starting with the outcome you desire to avoid.

Let’s assume you want to do a FB ad campaign to get new high-end coaching clients.

Instead of asking:

“What are the top 7 things I need to do to make the campaign profitable?”

Follow the mental model ‘Inversion’ and ask yourself this instead:

“What are the top 7 things that could prevent my FB ad campaign from being profitable?”

– Not starting the ad

– Not reverse engineering successful campaigns before you start

– No ideal client avatar

– No compelling offer

– No drip / follow-up campaign

– No training / ongoing training for your people taking calls

– No sales scripts to follow

Instead of “What does an amazing life look like?”

Ask yourself:

“What does a brutal life look like for me?”

Make your list.

Do the same with your high-end coaching clients when taking on new initiatives.

Watch what happens.
