Day 1308: Speechless. Move. Clients.
Last week we covered a lot of ground, including how ‘what you recognize in people you admire, is what you possess, but have not yet developed’ as well as how Dave went to the casino, had too many drinks, and totally misunderstood the craps table.
Speaking of his night ending with a one-year ban and losing his favorite pair of underwear…
My Drunk Aunt was chatting with Wifey this morning, and here’s how their conversation went:
Wifey: How did you go at online poker?
My Drunk Aunt: Well the internet went down for twenty minutes while I was playing.
Wifey: What happened?
My Drunk Aunt: Well, I’m OK, but the 911 operator was a real jerk to me.

I was speaking to a very high-end digital marketing expert that we’re headhunting to come work for us.
After our call, he sent a very complimentary email that was headed:
“Speechless”
It was a lengthy email where he talked about how excited he was about the vision I provided and the revolutionary software and community we’ve built for the business coaching / digital marketing space.
When you interview someone to come work for you… do a JV… a lead generator to fill your events… when you speak to someone at The Chamber to book your live events… Or if you headhunt someone to mentor you…
Do they hang up the phone and describe themselves as:
“Speechless”
If I can change the words you use for yourself, your situation and your vision…
I can change your identity.
If I can change your identity…
I can positively change the direction of your life, instantly.

The average person doesn’t realize the ‘feedback loop’ their own words create.
Positive and negative.
Said differently…
“You do not hold power because you do not think and subsequently talk like a person with power.”
Take some time RIGHT NOW to paint a picture of:
– What will happen when the person you’re speaking with attends your presentation?
– What will happen when you work with them?
– What will happen when they get together with you, one to one, for a consultation?
– What is the impact your business is having and will have in the future…?
The words you use are critical… and so is the level of INTENSITY and PASSION they’re delivered with.
For comparison’s sake, here’s an example of how I’d describe a presentation I ran for a few hundred digital marketers:
“There won’t be a single person that will attend my presentation that won’t walk away with an entirely new set of business-building skills… plus a proven framework of how to create a wildly successful business model.
Not a single person that attends my presentation…. Will not be MOVED to become and create more than they ever thought possible.
Including you.”
*Said with Genuine Passion and Intensity*
Notice how I say ‘my presentation’ (rather than the presentation)… that’s an inbuilt takeaway and holds tremendous power when you’re speaking / writing.
Your words can move people.
You heard it here first.
Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
