Yesterday, I was explaining how most are looking for home runs but never swing because they never see a pitch they like, as well as what happened when Dave accidentally got the words “jacuzzi” and “yakuza” confused.
Speaking of finding himself in trouble with the Chinese mafia…
Had a conversation with My Drunk Aunt this morning and here’s how it went:
Me: Ya, Dave likes the outdoors.
My Drunk Aunt: I’m outdoorsy…
Me: You are?
My Drunk Aunt: I drink wine on my patio.
Me:
My Drunk Aunt: Come on… ask me a question.
Me: OK, name something that would make your life easier.
My Drunk Aunt: Tails. Dating would be so much easier if men had tails so I could see if it was wagging or not after I did or said something.

My big bro died when I was 16 years old.
I’d do anything to change it and as horrific as it was… it built my inner ‘I’m not going to die wondering’ approach.
Has served me well.
Here are 10 uncomfortable truths…
- You don’t have what you want because your standards are too low.
- You are going to die, and you have no idea WHEN, where or how.
- Everyone you know and love is going to die, and you don’t know WHEN, where or how.
- Your obsession with finding happiness is why you don’t have it.
- Happiness is an inside job.
- Your material things do not, and will not, make you happier.
- I realize you need to experience 6 to really understand it.
- If you were to end up in a wheelchair… your level of happiness would be the same as your pre-chair life after 18 months (read that again).
- ‘Delayed Gratification’ is a Superpower of the successful, happy and content.
- Time is your most important asset, and you know it… but you still give it away.
- Your greatest investment will always be in yourself.
- You are the author of your own life story.
- At your funeral they will not talk about your accomplishments… they will talk about the person you became achieving your accomplishments.
- Writing your own obituary is an insanely powerful exercise…
- You’ll agree with 13 but won’t do it.
My hope is that you’ll CHANGE (your micro-commitments) as a result.
