Me: What’s the most tempting offer you’ve ever turned down… and do you regret it?
Dangerous Dave’s Dad: I think about one all the time, and it was about 35 years ago.
Me: *intrigued* What is it?
Dangerous Dave’s Dad: This guy asked me once… he said, “speak now or forever hold your peace”…

When Isiah retired, Jordan manufactured similar rivalries to create a similar hatred.
Thomas Edison battled with Nikola Tesla.
Coke has Pepsi.
Nike hates Reebok.
The Yankees have the Red Sox.
Messi vs Ronaldo.
Ali had Frazier.
Canada hates the USA in hockey and vice versa.
Larry Bird had Magic Johnson.
Amazon had Walmart
The list of rivalries is endless.
Without the rivalry and in many cases unbridled hatred…
… they wouldn’t have achieved the greatness.
The enemy was the KEY.
Think of your rival in high school that took your girlfriend / boyfriend.
Win or lose, like it or not, you hit the gym and lift your inner game.
My point…
… you need an enemy.
A rivalry.
Ideally, a HATRED.
But I bet you don’t have a business enemy to lift your inner game.
Like it or not…
… business is war.
I have multiple enemies that drive me, and one is the idiot influencers selling you high-end programs that don’t work, sprouting:
“The more you pay, the more you pay attention.”
*There is some truth to that… but it’s often used as a weapon.*
