On my most recent podcast I was talking about intrinsic value.

The IKEA effect is an example referring to the cognitive bias that you attach high intrinsic value to things you help create.

Working well for IKEA.

Probably the most famous story is the Betty Crocker instant cake mixes.

A series of focus groups led them to take the powdered eggs out of the mix and have you add fresh eggs when you make the cake.

The baker now feels like they were baking and has ownership over the end result and the rest is history.

Other examples…

Build-a-Bear Workshop: Children make their own stuffed animals and choose clothes, accessories, shoes etc…

Sneaker Companies: Allowing you to customize your own shoes and choose your own colors.

My Business Coaching Software: I have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of business coaches that use my software, and they participate in the formulation of the bullet-proof profit acceleration plan by simply plugging in some numbers.
