Speaking of the therapist saying no, I said you were unstable…

I was chatting to Bill, and here’s how our conversation went:

Me: You look a little down.

Bill: Heard my boss is going to fire the employee with the worst posture.

Me: And?

Bill: I have a hunch, it might be me.

‘Narcissist / Sociopath’

Reading ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ is great, but I’ve found when doing high level business and employing dozens of people…

… It’s critically important that you understand psychology.

Elite business people will tell you it’s about protecting your downside risk.

I’ll leave your marriage for another day, but it can be dangerous to have a business relationship with a legit narcissist or a sociopath.

Fun observations, from my *twitch* experiences with these delightful personality types over the years:

Narcissists:

– Every sociopath is a narcissist, but not every narcissist is a sociopath.

– Seek validation and admiration.

– Narcissists accuse you of doing what they’re doing.

– Narcissists use gaslighting (warp reality to make you feel crazy) to control you / relationship.

– They lack empathy.

– Accusations from a narcissist are confessions.

Sociopaths:

– They both hurt people, but with a sociopath, it’s calculated and more intentional.

– Sociopaths are like professional actors that adjust their personality / reactions to get what they want in any given situation / relationship.

– Sociopaths usually had a disrupted personality development or abuse as a child (it’s not genetic, its environmental).

– Sociopaths don’t feel stress related to the consequences of their actions (Hint: Don’t expect them to).

Don’t ask these people to ‘seek help’… it’ll be futile.

Your best defense is seeking help yourself and the solution is hidden in one word…

… DETACHMENT.

You heard it here first.
