Day 758: Bengals. Chiefs. Referee.
Day 758: Bengals. Chiefs. Referee.
Last week we covered a lot of ground including how to stay out of the friend’s zone and also why the hotel didn’t have disabled porn.
Speaking of things to do when you’re bored…
I didn’t sleep well last night so this morning I made my tea with Red Bull rather than water.
I was halfway to my first meeting when I realized I forgot my car.
In other news…
No one is talking about Bitcoin right now… if you’re a believer this might be the time to grab a little.
Anyhoo…
Your One PROFIT ACCELERATION THING Today:
‘Winners, Win’
Here’s what I was thinking about yesterday as I watched the Chiefs / Bengals game.
Here it is in a single sentence for you:
‘Winners win tournaments, and losers lose tournaments.’
No dog in the fight for me… Mahomes was unreal but the refereeing felt very one sided.
All that being said.
– Mike Hilton, Cincy cornerback, called the Chiefs stadium, “Burrowhead” after last week’s win over the Bills. That’s billboard material champions know you don’t give the other team.
EVER.
When the game was over the first thing Kelce and other Chief players said… “This ain’t Burrowhead but thank you for the billboard material.”
– Burrows had two interceptions (Mahomes zero).
– The coach was too emotional and animated on the sidelines and let a couple of calls (to be fair, highly questionable) get to him late in the game.
His heightened emotions affected the rest of the team when the game was on the line. *which likely lead to…*
– Joseph Ossai’s 15 yard unnecessary roughing penalty at the end was a bone headed play that cost them the game.
– Germaine Pratt missed an important tackle on the final drive.
– Pratt yells on his way into the locker room, cameras in full view, how Joseph Ossai cost them the game.
BIGGEST LOSER MOVE of all time and type of thing that kills culture.
In the words of the great Keith Cunningham:
“A triple bogey is a bad shot followed by a stupid shot.”
Question for you:
When things go bad and a mistake is made…
How do you react?
*think of the email you wish you could have back, cough cough*
How do your coaching clients react?
That’s where business championships are won and lost.

PS. Michael Jordan can’t tell you his 5 biggest shots… but he can instantly recall his 5 biggest misses / errors. My heart goes out to Joseph Ossai for how he’s feeling today.
