Day 381:  Karl Bryan Net Worth

Yesterday on my podcast I was explaining what goes into a $100,000 coaching program and all the insights I’ve gleaned from reading Jeff Bezos ‘Letters to Shareholders.’

Specifically, being distinctive, uber obsessed with customer experience, and thinking long term.

Rather than reading ‘The Secret’ for the 6th time and pretending wishful thinking is going to get you anywhere…

Start reading material from legends like Ray Dalio, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, Marc Benioff etc…

Translation: Follow advice from billionaires that have actually DONE IT….

Hint: They’re not posting videos on FB and talking about ‘Multiple Streams of Income.’

Following and debating “The Influencer” on your newsfeed is like playing chess with a pigeon.

No matter how good you are, the bird is going to shit on the board and then strut around like it won anyway.

In other news…

While going to pay for my groceries there was a ‘BIG X’ by the register for me to stand on.

I’ve seen far too many Road Runner cartoons to fall for that crap.

Anyhoo…

Your ONE COACHING THING Today Is:

‘Net worth’

So, when you Google my name:

‘Karl Bryan Net Worth’

Automatically populates.

Not sure how I feel about that… but what I do know is that knowing how to quickly calculate someone’s net worth makes sense as a business coach.

Establish the little red arrow that says:

‘You are Here’.

The reality is I have a high net worth for ONE simple reason:

I’ve worked on it….

As in, measured it.

Consistently.

A great exercise for becoming financially free… is to work out your net worth.

Then work it out with your high-end coaching clients also.

In simple terms net worth is the calculation of what you OWN minus what you OWE.

Very importantly… your net worth is NOT your income.

I know people that earn a million dollars per year and their net worth is negative.

And we all know the clown that doesn’t own real estate or stocks but drives a $150,000 car.

*That guy*

That guy selling you the course on Multiple Streams of Income.

That guy takes a picture of himself leaning against the car and posts it on FB.

That guy that owns multiple companies and tells you all about it.

That guy is BROKE but pretending not to be.

So, to calculate your net worth here’s what you do.

1.      Make a list of all you own and attach a (approximate) value:

Cash                                             $10,000

Retirement Accounts               $50,000

Real Estate                                 $300,000

Vehicles                                       $10,000

Jewellery                                     $10,000

Collectables                                $10,000

Art                                                $10,000

Etc….

Total                                            $400,000

2.      Make a list of all you owe and attach a (approximate) value:

Mortgage Balance                     $150,000

Car Loan                                     $5,000

Student Loan                             $35,000

Medical Bills                              $5,000

Credit Cards                               $15,000

Other                                           $0

Total                                            $200,000

Therefore, for this individual…

$400,000 (own) – $200,000 (owe) = $200,000 (net worth)

If you can add and subtract… you can work out your coaching clients’ approximate net worth in, literally, minutes.

I don’t need to meet them to know that they haven’t ever done it on their own.

And always remember…

“When you buy stuff… you end up with STUFF.”
