Day 525: My Bucket List

It’s Christmas Eve so thank goodness I can start my Xmas shopping after all this time.

Speaking of Christmas…

When my brother committed suicide and my family split up in a very messy way… I ended up spending Christmas away from family for almost a decade.

Starting at 15 years old I woke up on Christmas morning ALONE or in an unfamiliar

house more times than I care to count.

It’s tough to think about those lonely times with my dog, Aussie, and gives me

anxiety just thinking about it…

From experience, the ones going through a tough time during the holidays will likely isolate themselves and not reach out.

It’s easy to think and say:

“If they needed anything or wanted to talk, they’d call or text.”

It’s the ones that don’t call or text that could really use a call / text / drive by /

message.

Please reach out to someone in a loving way, today.

In other news…

My 23 year old step daughter brought her boyfriend over for our Christmas

gathering….

… I asked him to stand at the end of the picture so I can crop him out when she

dumps him.

Anyhoo…

Make a gingerbread house… nah, MAKE MEMORIES.

Buy presents… nah, BE PRESENT.

Wrap gifts… nah, WRAP SOMEONE IN A HUG.

Send gifts… nah, SEND LOVE.

Shop for food… nah, DONATE TO A NEEDY FAMILY.

See the lights… nah, BE THE LIGHT.
