Day 608: Winners Win. Losers Lose.

Yesterday I was explaining how Elon Musk is unhinged and gets hated on so much… it’s simply cause winners focus on winning while losers focus on winners.

Speaking of losing…

Here’s a conversation I had with my Drunk Aunt last night:

Me: How are you doing?

Drunk Aunt: Not very well… I need to make some changes in my life.

Me: That’s what I want to hear… start waking up early, join the gym, watch what you eat, drink lots of water and you’ll be feeling great in no time.

Drunk Aunt: I’ll consider that but I was just thinking of buying another cat.

Me: *Good chat*

In other news…

If you turn your toaster on its side, you can reheat pizza.

‘Win vs Loss’

My favorite hockey team the Toronto Maple Leaf’s lost in the first round for the fifth year in a row.

Here’s my assessment in a single sentence for you:

“Pros WIN tournaments, losers LOSE tournaments.”

As in unforced errors and mistakes.

Said differently here’s a conversation I shared with you about a year ago between me and my mentor:

Mentor: “Karl, want me to tell you what a triple bogey is?”

Me: “Ha ha yes, let me hear it.”

Mentor: “A triple bogey is a bad shot followed by a stupid shot.”

Me: “HAHAHAHA. Got it Boss and thank you for insanely valuable tip.”

Translation for my non golfers.

Think, playing golf and accidentally hitting behind a branchy tree and then thinking on your next shot you can get it through the branchy tree, over the water and not hit it hard enough that it’ll roll into the sand trap.

All in a desperate effort to make up for your one bad shot.

Hint: You inevitably end up with a second shot behind the same branchy tree.

Hence the triple bogey.

The solution is to accept the ‘bad shot’, regroup…

… hit the ball safely into the middle of the fairway, continue along with your bogey (one over par) and damage control the one bad shot.

The Toronto Maple Leafs didn’t do that and hence they LOST the series.

“Pros WIN tournaments, losers LOSE them.”

Replay some losses in your mind and you’ll see this dynamic played out over and over again.

You heard it here first.
