My big brother committed suicide when I was 16 years old so this is a topic that I’m, unfortunately, intimately familiar with.
This advice is insanely common:
“To be successful you must look within”
There’s SOME truth to this but here’s 10 times better advice if you want to have an amazing life:
Stop looking ‘within.’
People who seemingly “have it all” will get depressed when they focus too much ‘within’.
It’s why Roy Raymond of Victoria’s Secret, Kurt Cobain and Anthony Bourdain committed suicide.
What is equally dangerous is focusing too much on what others think / do / say in the context of how they affect you.
Here’s the solution in a single sentence for you:
‘Spend your time thinking about products you can create, events you can host, people you can serve, enjoyable experiences you can enjoy.’
And stop looking within.
