I’m not sick, she just thinks I can be better.

‘Antidepressants VS Focus’
They say over 40 million people will take antidepressants this month in North America.
My big brother committed suicide when I was 16 years old so I feel comfortable having an opinion on this topic even though it’s a COMPLEX ONE.
My thoughts in relation to this stat:
– You can focus on what you have or you can focus on what you don’t have
– You can focus on what you can control or you can focus on what you can’t control
– You can focus on the past, the present or the future.
The average person is focusing on what’s missing, what they can’t control and the past.
Then wonder why they’re depressed / unmotivated.
Let the doctors know antidepressants will not help this person.
Changing their focus WILL.
*yes depression is very REAL and major nuances to this advice exist*
Here it is in a single sentence for you, whether you’re depressed or not:
‘Focus on what you have, what you can control, while being present and working towards a more positive future for yourself.’
You’ll be pleased with your results.
You heard it here first.
