One Thing: Day 90: Drew Brees’ TD Record
Day 90: Drew Brees’ TD Record
Ok, so yesterday I sent you some crazy salaries of what politicians get in retirement.
For the REST OF THEIR LIFE.
The numbers are dependent upon age and length of service (I got all the nasty emails so thx and so sorry I was not perfectly accurate on the salary numbers – which was NOT my point on any level).
Lesson learned and for anyone irreversibly harmed by the incorrect FOR LIFE salaries I sincerely apologize.
Please don’t burn my house down.
You decide if an approximately 50-year-old politician (same for both parties) that had the government go TRILLIONS of dollars into debt while they were performing their magical duties…
… deserves an APPROXIMATE salary of $90,000 per year (not $138,000 due to not enough time served) forever.
The soldier that fights in the wars gets to keep his PTSD and nowhere near the amount above.
Here’s a few stats for you.
A million seconds is approximately 8 days.
A billion seconds is approximately 32 years.
A trillion seconds is approximately 32,000 years.
When your (USA, CAD, AU, UK, etc…) government goes TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS into debt… it’s possibly a lack of fiscal responsibility by those working for the government?
YOU can make a difference and effect change.
Rant over.
Anyhoo…
When Peyton Manning was playing… I absolutely loved the guy. I respect the heck out of him and what he stands for.
To me, he represents hard work, leadership, and is a proven winner and no-nonsense kind of guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously.
Possibly a little soft under pressure but he’s got his two rings so let’s go with that.
Well, Drew Brees is about a foot shorter and picked 31 spots later than Manning. He literally has to stand on his tippy toes when throwing the ball half the time.
Not nearly as celebrated but he just beat Manning’s record of the most touchdowns in NFL history.
Goes without saying that a lot of people underestimated Drew Brees… And here’s what they never took into consideration.
It’s today’s ONE THING:
“What do you do when no one is looking?”
That’s a monster secret to success.
Here’s a short video below that Reggie Bush took of Brees after practice on Sunday.
Practicing by himself for 45 minutes AFTER team practice and all the other players had left the building.
While no one was looking.
Check it out… I hope it inspires you to work a little harder.
Four questions for you, Coach:
- How much of your week is allocated to practice?
- Do you ‘practice to improve’ or practice just to practice (read a book to implement or read a book to read a book and nothing changes for you)?
- Are there areas (lead generation, cough cough) where you have settled or accept inaction due to fear (due to your lack of practice)?
- Are you playing the long game (delayed gratification) or finding yourself looking for shortcuts?
This is a case where honesty is 100% your best policy.
Paint a REAL and honest picture of where you’re at.
Here’s the video former NFL running back Reggie Bush took of Drew Brees the day before the game he beat the TD record.
You heard it here first.
