Day 202: MATH and Coaching Prospects

Yesterday I was explaining the only three types of incentives there are.

Speaking of incentives… I like to scuba dive and view it as a reward (incentive).

2020 is like scuba diving.

But with no oxygen.

In a flowery children’s pool.

With no water.

And you’re naked.

With a sunburn.

And your bum hole hurts.

Anyhoo…

I’ve mentioned Economics a few times over the last few days so I’m going to give you a business coaching economics lesson.

Your ONE COACHING THING Today Is:

‘Long-Term Coaching Clients Need Good MATH.’

Your coaching clients need a high unit of sale if you want to keep them long term. 

Let me give you an example.

If I was a business coach charging $2,000 per month…. And I take on a massage therapist as a client.

The massage therapist is charging roughly $100 for a massage. The client (masseuse) therefore needs to do 20 massages to break even on my fees.

EVERY MONTH

And the coach wonders why they cancel after 90 days saying they’re ‘overwhelmed.’

What you need is a client with a higher unit of sale. 

If I take on a client that does $20,000 kitchen/bathroom renovations and let’s assume profit of $8,000…

I need to help my client get 3 deals done PER YEAR ($24,000 of profit) to break even on my coaching fees and 6 deals per year double the coaching investment.

Do you see the difference in the MATH?

Coaches target ‘alternative health practitioners’ and wonder why they always bailout. 

Ummmm… the MATH sucks.

Solution?

You can take on the alternative health practitioner (or masseuse) as a coaching client but you better help them build, and sell, a $5,000 unit of sale or they’re waving bye-bye.

BTW I’ve created, sold, and delivered high-end coaching programs.

The numbers I’ve sold them for would blow the mind of many coaches…

But forget that for a minute and consider the MATH.

If you sold (and kept) just two per year… you’d be doing OK financially.

The MATH can set you up for the entire year.
