Day 370: RIP Paul Johnston

Happy Easter to you and yours.

I lost a friend to cancer over the weekend… he was 47 years old.

He was a hockey buddy and I called him ‘The 6’5” Miracle’ because he had beaten stage 4 cancer previously.

Unfortunately, he didn’t beat it a second time…

I will miss him and so will many.

Please hug those you love today and every day.

My 7-year-old daughter wanted me to ask you this for Easter:

What do you call a sleepy Easter Egg?

‘Egg-zosted.’

Here’s mine:

Why doesn’t the Easter Bunny make noise while he has sex?

‘Because he has cotton balls.’

There was some controversy for major league baseball over the weekend.

You ONE COACHING THING Today Is:

‘Turn it into a Game’

There aren’t many people I know that don’t enjoy a game.

Video game (I’d kick your arse at Pac Man if given the chance)

Baseball

Tennis

Chess

Backgammon

Hockey

Football

Poker

Basketball

Etc…

They’re all games and if you’re playing the right one for you… they’re FUN.

In any game there are 4 things:

Rules

Strategy

Winners

Losers

A SCOREBOARD

Strategy is critical but the execution is PARAMOUNT.

What good is it if you call the right play, your guy gets open, the ball lands in his hands… but he misses the last-second shot.

*Gonzaga clearly doesn’t have this problem*

There is no sport in the world where you play it and do not regularly look at the scoreboard.

Players and spectators.

Unless of course you’re my wife and you’re watching your husband play hockey at the World Championships and miss my game-winning goal cause you’re sipping wine and talking to the other wives.

I digress.

Question…

What does your scoreboard look like?

Are you able to read it?

Are your clients able to read it?

If you want to enter the “2% Business Club”….

Create a SCOREBOARD.

Or not.
