I asked her husband for another great story…

He said I have many but here’s a goodie from a text exchange.

My Niece: *Texts her husband on a cold winter’s morning* ‘Windows frozen, won’t open.’

Her Husband: *Texts Back* ‘Gently pour some lukewarm water over it and gently tap edges with hammer’

My Niece: *Texts Back 5 minutes later* ‘Computer really messed up now.’

Her Husband: *Silence*

‘Ode to Taxes and Politicians’

I often say here and in my podcast that if you give me a room of 100 people and I ask:

“What is the number one expense in your life?”

80% of my audience will answer with mortgages/housing or some variation of.

Truth is the number one expense in your life and every adult you know… is TAXES.

By a long way.

This is inspired by the final column written by Charley Reese a heavyweight and highly respected journalist for many years.

545 vs 300,000,000

Politicians (545) are the only people (300,000,000) in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The Government does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

The article is a long one but here is the finality…

‘Ode to Taxes’

Tax his land,

Tax his bed,

Tax the table…

At which he’s fed.

Tax his tractor,

Tax his mule,

Teach him taxes…

Are the rule.

Tax his work,

Tax his pay…

He works for peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow,

Tax his goat,

Tax his pants,

Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,

Tax his shirt,

Tax his work,

Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,

Tax his drink,

Tax him if he…

Tries to think.

Tax his cigars…

Tax his beers.

If he cries…

Tax his tears.

Tax his car,

Tax his gas,

Find other ways…

To tax his ass.

Tax all he has,

Then let him know,

That you won’t be done…

Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers…

Then tax him some more.

STILL, THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.

We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened?

Can you say ‘politicians’ and their ‘benefits’?

How did The Clintons get so rich again…?

Oh ya.

*Educate yourself in this area and help your clients do the same*

When your client has 20% margins and you help them earn a dollar (new sales, FB ads, smiling and dialing etc…) that means they KEEP 20 cents on each dollar earned.

And, that’s actually not that bad.

BUT… when you help them save a dollar, they keep 100 cents on that dollar.

A difference of 80 cents… but one is not nearly as sexy as the other.

When trying to cover your high-end coaching fees… might be a good idea to help them in the non-sexy areas.

And I know what you’re thinking…

… and you’d be right.
