Yesterday I gave you the one question my client that regularly sells his $200,000 coaching program asks and how my wife loves the sound I make when I shut up.

Speaking of my inner pain…

My friend’s son stayed with us for an extended period…  here’s a play by play of a teenagers operating system:

After drinking water from a cup… drink more water but from a different cup.

After saying “I’m coming”… don’t come.

Leave two squares of toilet paper so you don’t need to change the roll.

Flushing the toilet is optional.

If you clog the toilet cause the size of your crap defies all logic… walk away like nothing happened.

When the water you spilled makes the floor slippery… quickly exit to safety.

The proper way to hang the towel is to not hang the towel.

All empty food boxes go straight back in the pantry.

When you hear ‘dinner’ immediately start lengthy activity like taking a nap.

Thou shoes shall block thou doorway.

In other news…

Fall in love with the person that enjoys your craziness… not the person that tries to

normalize you.

Recently I was explaining how ‘you don’t get coaching clients… coaching clients get you.’

When marketing products (service based offerings don’t scale) there are a number of factors that go into your offering.

Person
Process

The most important two are Product and Person.

The one I’ll explain today is, “Person.”

Reason:

Good Products become commodities.

TV’s were a few thousand and now they’re a few hundred.

Speakers were $1000 and now they’re $100.

Smoke detectors were $500 and now they’re only $50.

Counter top juicers were $1,500 and now they’re only $150.

The list is endless…

… but products do become commodities.

Most business owners don’t realize it’s their personalities that can powerfully set them apart long term.

Some very scalable examples you’ll recognize…

Steve Jobs and Apple

Elon Musk and Tesla

Bill Gates and Microsoft

Richard Branson and Virgin

American Idol and Simon Cowell (was never the same after he left).

Jeff Bezos and Amazon

Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook

When Subway brought in (pedophile!) Jared (*throws up in mouth*)… they went to the moon.

When Nike brought in Michael Jordan they went to the moon also.

Polo and Ralph Lauren

Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones

Oakland Raiders and Al Davis

Too many examples to list…

Many marketing experts will tell you it’s a bad idea to have an identifiable personality heading up the company.

They’d be wrong.

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
