Day 602: Prayers. Crying. Stuff.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the legendary Moms out there.

Last week we covered a lot of ground including why my drunk Aunt keeps having to rename her dog, as well as when you’re struggling to ACT its your past’s fault.

Speaking of strange behavior…
Fun Fact: Mother’s Day has the lowest crime rate.

Says a lot about how many moms commit crimes but don’t on Mother’s Day because they are too busy being celebrated.

‘Prayers’

I had a couple clients who recently told me they’d been praying for me, my family and the impact I’m trying to create globally, my company, software etc…

Shout out to BJ O’Neil and Karl Diffenderfer… two FABULOUS human beings I have come to really cherish.

If you haven’t noticed, I’m not the softest guy in the world, but the above really moved me.

Without getting overly mushy, here’s a great message that might help you and your successful high-end coaching clients.

Ted Leonsis, who owns the Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, and multiple other professional sporting franchises…

… when he exited AOL, was worth hundreds of millions.

*In the interest of length… I’m paraphrasing below*

He went through 4 phases:

1. I bought stuff because I thought it would make me happy.

Result: It didn’t.

2. Figured I hadn’t bought enough stuff… so I bought more stuff to make myself happy.

Result: It didn’t.

3. Figured I’d bought the wrong stuff… so I bought different, more expensive, stuff in an attempt to be happy.

Result: It didn’t.

4. He had a friend who was filling an Airbus A380 to fly hundreds of wheelchairs and medical supplies to the war-torn Balkans… his friend told him ‘come with us and it might help you find some of the answers you’re looking for.’

While there distributing the medical supplies and wheelchairs, a young boy, without legs, asked him for a hug and then passionately hugged him, for an extended period, after getting his new wheelchair.

Ted asked the boy: Young man, I’m curious why you asked me for that hug?
Young boy answered: Ted, I want to make sure I remember you so I can pray for you in my prayers at nighttime.

Result: He worked it out… The secret to living is GIVING.
