One Thing: Day 854: Tone. Dramatic. Jokes.

Day 854: Tone. Dramatic. Jokes.

Yesterday I was explaining why we’re all safe from AI taking over our businesses as well as how Dangerous Dave had two sock puppets ‘make glove’ for his end of year Drama project.

Speaking of our grade 5 drama teacher fainting…

Willy Wonka is my favorite childhood story about young kids who have the same childlike flaws as the rest of us… but they get murdered for them.

In other news…

Please help me understand how every book is a New York Times best seller.

‘Live Events’

We’ve been testing online ads like crazy to get local business owners registered for local live business events at venues like The Chamber, Golf Course, The Yacht, Polo Club, Penthouse of local hotels etc…

Pulled out some old notes on running small business events that converted like crazy (last event I did I got 100% conversion to high end coaching client) and here’s some of my bullets on public speaking:

1. Joke.

Funny equals money… I ALWAYS open with a canned joke.

2. Hand Up.

Ask them a question(s) that’ll get them to raise their hand in the first minute of starting.

Example:  “Raise your hand if you want to make more money with your business while spending less time in the office.”

*raise hands from 80%*

“OK, now raise your hand if you’re not going to raise your hand no matter what I ask today?”

I just got almost every hand raised and a group laugh with 100% certainty.

3. Smile.

Sounds obvious but it’ll make you look more confident and most importantly places your audience at ease.

4. Double the Energy.

Double the energy… triple the sales.

Being enthusiastic is contagious and your audience will engage at a higher level when they feel your genuine energy and enthusiasm.

5. Speak Clearly.

Use simple words, without  and don’t speak too fast.

6. Tone.

Vary the tone and pace of your voice.

7. Stories.

Les Brown says, ‘Never tell a story without making a point and never make a point without telling a story.’

8. Ask Questions.

Thinking is ‘asking and answering questions to yourself’… ask questions and guide their thinking.

9. Dramatic.

Be dramatic with your voice, movements and gestures.

You need to practice practice practice.

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
