The Idiotic Movie “The Secret”
Over the weekend I found myself watching the 2006 cult movie “The Secret”.
It’s a cute thought but a ridiculous message that makes people susceptible to scams.
If “the secret” was the ‘secret’, then the guys that created the movie would have sat in their living rooms thinking super positively about the movie becoming a monster hit.
No, they were riding planes, trains and automobiles going from city to city and stage to stage pumping the tires of the movie.
Promoting the hell out of it along with the message of “The Law of Attraction”.
If at any stage during the movie they had mentioned actually doing something….
that would have been nice.
It should be called “The law of action” rather than “The Law of Attraction”.
That’s a boatload closer to the “secret” if there actually was one.
Which, there’s not.
When my 5-year-old daughter was born, I was scared crapless something was going to go wrong. Not sure why… I just was.
If my thoughts had any control over the outcome, she was coming out with a rare blood disease that no one had heard of yet, two fingers on each hand, three eyes and an arm where her left ear should have been.
Thank goodness the law of attraction doesn’t work.
Your best attitude is no better than your worst attitude when it comes to getting and keeping high end coaching clients.
I remember being a confused, stressed out, broke business coach. It wasn’t until I learned to genuinely help build successful businesses that I ever started making real money.
Almost daily I’ll hear from a coach that’s not using my online lead generation tools yet:
“I need more clients” or “I need more money”.
The problem is not the number of clients they have.
It’s not the amount of money they have.
The problem is they refuse to help people prior to them getting paid.
You have an “I want to be paid before I coach or help you” problem.
That’s the problem
It’s Christmas time… you walk to the post office box…. see a box from someone you haven’t heard from in a long time.
They sent a Christmas card with a thoughtful note and a small unexpected present for your family. What a surprise.
How did that card and small gift make you feel?
You felt great and that’s where the magic lies.
You also reciprocated with a kind gesture in return.
It’s called the law of reciprocity.
Eben Pagan refers to a concept of “moving the free line.”
Eben is a quiet, introverted, type. A self-confessed terrible salesperson, so he needed to change the rules.
He gives his best content away for free and as a result, people trust him at a higher level and happily pay for his program when asked to buy it.
Only to the tune of $20 million per year.
Mitch Miller does the same. He posts more actionable, valuable content than anyone. Pure gold.
Stop trying to “get coaching clients” and start helping your prospects.
Rather than The Law of Attraction and being “positively” (that’s a pun HAHA) broke… let’s follow the Law of Action and positively change some lives.
Here’s your Action Plan
Your 90-day mission, should you choose to accept it and as always should you be hung up on, sworn at or hated on social media, Karl Bryan will disavow any knowledge of your actions.
1. Get yourself into a powerful state of “determination” and imagine yourself as a Multiple Six-Figure Coach with a $300,000 bank balance and more happy, prosperous clients than you can handle.
2. Collect marketing materials of all shapes and sizes from your city (a business coach that has a “no junk mail sign” is dumb beyond measure) online directories, newspapers, magazines, coupon books, direct mail pieces, view billboards, listen to local radio for ads, etc. These are all gold because people advertising/marketing are trying to grow their business and spending money to do so.
These people hire coaches faster than anyone and proven they’re willing to spend money to improve.
1. Pick the best 3 businesses you know you can help. Example: ones with horrific advertisements that look like a blown up business card, Ones with no call to action. No valuable offer, If they have their company name at the top of the advert instead of a headline call for this reason etc… (if you need help with how to do this and what proper marketing should look like, I have a 4 step process I created a video for that’ll make any advertisement/marketing piece work like magic)
2. Call them and help them. Yes, I said “call them” and this could be misconstrued as a cold call so try not to throw up in the garbage can… only, what you don’t realize is that Tony Robbins has made a cold call within the last 90 days. He just didn’t see it as a “cold call” like a lightweight… he had something to tell someone so he called to help and didn’t think twice about it.
Do it to help them… not help you!
