Day 1173: Nightmare. Avoided. Punt.

Yesterday I was explaining what a Hedge Fund is as well as what happened when my dyslexic Aunt tried to buy tickets for Ryanair online.

Speaking of her ending up with Rihanna tickets…

Dave and his girlfriend were having pillow talk and here is how it went:

Girlfriend: Sweetie, tell me those three magic words.

Dangerous Dave: It’s my fault.

Girlfriend: Not that silly, the important ones.

Dangerous Dave: You are right.

Your one PROFIT ACCELERATION THING today is:

‘Nightmare Avoided’

90% of businesses in your local area go bust within 5 years.

80% close the doors within 48 months.

Translation: What they are doing ain’t working.

There is no shortage of opportunities for your coaching clients to make money or grow their business.

What’s seldom talked about…

… there are far too many opportunities for them to LOSE IT ALL.

Hence why they should consistently punt the ball (say no) on 4th down.

*Yes, I know Dan Campbell would disagree.

Your high end coaching client should work on the first 3 downs (their current offerings / service / fundamentals) rather than fixating on 4th and 2 and whether or not they should go for it.

As I’ve said before…

If the quarterback or the fans called the shots, your favorite football team would “go for it” on 4th down almost every single time.

Simply due to emotion and 100% disregard for “forward momentum having much to do with nightmares avoided” as forward progress.

BORING…

It’s the equivalent of the business owner buying Facebook ads but not cleaning up their accounts receivables or back-end service / support issues.

Finding new clients rather than selling to the loyal ones.

Not isolating the 20% of their clients that generate 80% of their revenues.

The non sexy fundamentals.

Real training is doing the same thing over and over again until it becomes automatic.

Here’s my point in a simple common example:

If your client has an accounts receivable problem at $500,000… they’ll have a much

BIGGER accounts receivable problem at $1 million.

The end.

I may have just murdered Facebook ads.

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
